School Fish I– The age level starts at 6 months to 24 ½ months of age and is done with parent. This is a water adjustment class. Students will learn: Basic water adjustment skills paired with nursery songs, proper ways to use flotation device, pool rules and basic pool procedures, nursery songs Blowing bubble, learning to hold breath Kicking and Scooping skills paired with song Lying on back while ears are in the water.
School Fish II- Student will begin to take lesson without parent in a group, private, or semi-private setting. There will be a lot of skills reiterated from the previous level as well as new skills introduced. This is to ensure children are becoming well acclimated to the water. Students will: Learn to hold their breath for at least 5 seconds while blowing bubbles. B.O.B.S ( Blowing. Out. Below. Surface) Learning proper ways to kick with/without kick boards and fins. Treading water with/ without noddle Streamline on front and back Beginning front crawl Elementary Back stroke Water park Etiquette Pool rules and procedures. Water Dragon initiate – Students cannot move into this level until completing the skill requirements for “School Fish II”. In this level student will begin to learn Freestyle and Backstroke. Swim drills will be introduced in this level. Skills will be as followed: Continued breathing techniques; learning to breathe while turning head to the side. Proper hand position for Freestyle and Back Stroke Kicking techniques continued. (Backstroke – Big toe lift; Free style – Pointed toe/ white water kick) Hand-to-Thigh Drill Freestyle Elbow lead Learn to Dive Breast Stroke and Butterfly introduction. **These levels are offered in private or group sessions. Private lessons are $35 per hour, semi private or group lessons are $25 per hour. Services are provided by partners within our association. As always.....LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY! After levels have been completed, your child is welcome to join our competitive swim team! See you at the Pool or Catch you at the beach!
